1 cup cottage cheese, pressed through strainer
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 large egg yolk
8 ounces fresh strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced
For the topping
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
12 ounces fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
2 teaspoons 10- to 20-year aged balsamic vinegar
